U6 (T-Ball)...........................for players born in 2013, 2014, 2015
U8 (Coach Pitch)...................for players born in 2011, 2012
U10 (Mite)............................for players born in 2009, 2010
U12 (Squirt)..........................for players born in 2007, 2008
U14 (Pee Wee)…...................for players born in 2005, 2006 (maximum of 2 overage players)
U16 (Bantam).......................for players born in 2003, 2004 (maximum of 2 overage players)
U19 (Midget)........................for players born in 2000, 2001, 2002 (no overage players)
There is overlap between U6/U8/U10 to account for player ability. For example a child born is 2011 that has already played U6 for 2 years can easily play up at U8. Another child, also born in 2011 but has never played would probably need to stay in U6. Placement will be made dependent on team viability and softball coordinator discretion.
A player that wishes to play overage you must make this request in writing for approval by our League Commissioner. Requests in writing are required to the Onoway Softball Coordinator and will be reviewed by the League Commissioner. Request must include player’s name, birthdate, and explanation as to why the request is being made. Please note that “for the convenience of the parent, to have siblings together” may not be an accepted reason.
Team jerseys are provided by Onoway Ball and Soccer Association.
AMENDMENT April 12, 2018: Face masks are required for all levels except T-Ball.
Players will require a proper fitting glove, Hat, shoes (Rubber Cleats are allowed), Optional Athletic Cup (Boys & Girls)
Communities we travel to are: Anselmo, Sangudo, Darwell, Onoway, Rich Valley, Alberta Beach, Alexis, Wabamun
The league involves all the above noted communities, and players must register in the community where they reside, based on local elementary school boundaries. If you aren’t sure which community please see the "Downloads" section on the Main Menu to review "Softball Boundaries by Elementary School Maps". Or contact the softball representative for your area.
Physical addresses will be required to complete the registration process.
